With the skills I got from Snapi Zera, I have been able to feed and educate my children

Jennnifer

Jennifer is one of the child mothers that first received support from Jajja Lucy Children Home which is now Snapi Zera Africa. She undertook training in tailoring and acquired skills that since has changed her story. A single mother of four children is able to take care of the needs of her children from the revenue she obtains from her tailoring work.

In her own words, this is what Jennifer says, “I became a mother at the age of 15 years, dropped out of school and my life was very miserable. I was identified and supported by Jajja Lucy Children Home to acquire skills in tailoring. After the training, I went and worked with another senior tailor from whom I acquired experience and with my small saving from my wages, I was able to buy a sewing machine and started my personal tailoring work in Kampala city. And over the years, I have developed and established a sizeable clientele thus, growing my income to support my family. I have been able to support my children through school. My first born finished his education and now is working. My future plan is to expand my workshop to begin fashion and design company in which I can produce goods for export. I want to thank Mr. Ivan Kisige for being there for me to brighten my future.”
